The Opening Ceremony of the CBSE National Badminton Championship, hosted this year again by Jhunjhunu Academy Wisdom City Jhunjhunu was a grand event, well punctuated with a beautiful cultural programme which had everyone enthralled. More than 93 schools from three continents and access india will be participating in the various events comprising Under 14, Under 17 and Under 19 ( Boys and Girls) Singles and Doubles categories, over the next five days.
The ceremony was formerly inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Girdhari Lal Sharma- Additional Superintendent Of Police Jhunjhunu, Olympic Badminton Referee & Umpire Mr. Apinder Sabarwal and CBSE Observer Dr. Tapandas, who were warmly welcomed with bouquets and mementos. The Lighting of the ceremonial Lamp by all the Dignitaries followed soon after.
The Chief Guest then hoisted the CBSE Flag and graciously accepted the March Past honours as the students marched in a spectacular and well synchronized order. All the contingents then solemnly took the Oath of Allegiance, promising to abide by all the rules to ensure fair play throughout the tournament. In accordance with the time honoured tradition at Jhunjhunu Academy’s no event can be initiated without first invoking the blessings of The Almighty. Therefore, The program started with lighting of lamp by all the guests and after that a sensational Rajasthani Classical Dance Ghoomar was presented by the Academians troupe which received a tumultuous applause from the mesmerized audience.
The Director of the host school- Akash Modi delivered the Welcome Address with an exquisite verse “Jeet aur Haar apni soch par nirbhar karti hai. Maan lo to haar hai aur Thaan lo to jeet hai.” emphasizing the significance of Sports as part of the CBSE curriculum. In his Speech, he reiterated the importance of Sports, saying that currently Jhunjhunu Academy caters to 17 different Sports facilities with 17 NIS coaches – more than any other in the Shekhawati region. He went on to kindle the burning desire of every participant to succeed by spurring them on to ‘put in their best to Be the best’. He said that the mantra to success is focus, determination, perseverance, honesty with a dash of that elusive factor called Luck, often the game changer in any competition.
Jhunjhunu Academy Chairman Dr. Dilip Modi mentioned such feats would encourage and motivate our young Indians to carve the position of our nation furthermore in the world of Sports. Dr. Modi concluded by wishing all the teams the Best of Luck for the upcoming games and hoping that though the various participants have stepped in as competitors, they would leave as friends.
The Chief Guest Girdhari Lal Sharma then addressed the gathering by felicitating the school for hosting the National Championship and appreciated the Management for the well organized arrangements which ensured a smooth sailing for all the participants. He hoped that the spirit of bonhomie and camaraderie shared by all the Academians would also be reflected among the teams. He said that he truly believed that Discipline was an integral component required to triumph in life. Sports and all extra curricular activities he said, were not only needed to keep one physically fit but was of paramount importance in the development of a well rounded personality which would further sculpt the future leaders of our nation. He also emphasized upon the importance of a healthy competition and sportsmanship spirit.
Olympic Badminton Referee & Umpire Mr. Apinder Sabarwal and CBSE Observer Dr. Tapandasthen along with Dr. Dilip Modi declared the CBSE National Badminton Championship 2023-2024 officially Open at Jhunjhunu Academy Wisdom City by releasing the balloons.
